The guy I bought it from was the nicest guy ever, 50ish, only drove the car on nice days and kept it in the garage and stored it in the winter. He and his wife were moving to Bangkok, didn't really need a lot of money, were selling literally everything, was asking $13k for it (which I thought was a steal for the car) but really took a liking to me and gave it to me for $12k. I think he really liked the idea of it going to a Z enthusiast, I even picked it up with another Zer. What an awesome guy to work with, it's people like that who give me faith in the human race :) Couldn't have asked for a better deal.
We'll see why it's running on 5 cylinders tomorrow (it's @ Nissan right now), but even if it's something major like a blown head gasket, it's still a pretty good price. I don't mean to "toot my own horn", but my car is one of the cleanest Z's I've ever seen, and is exactly what I wanted (red on black stick TT w/low miles). I'm very happy with my purchase, and don't plan on giving the car up anytime soon.
Just keep looking dude - I found my car on Cars.com on a Sunday night, called immediately, went and looked at it on Monday afternoon, bought it Monday night. Within 24 hours I found exactly what I wanted for an incredible price. You just gotta get lucky I guess.
